Perfect Poached Eggs Every Time with Eggondola

I love getting poached eggs at restaurants, but I have never been able to make them perfectly at home.

I have tried several methods — cooking them in vinegar, swirling the water, using ramekins, and gently floating them into the pot. They never came out right, and I always ended up frustrated and disappointed.

I bought the Eggondola on Amazon, honestly, because I thought it was cute.

I used this simple little tool to make poached eggs easier and less stressful.

  • No Swirling Water
  • Helps Eggs Hold Their Shape
  • Easy to Use
  • Great for Quick Breakfasts

The boat-shaped design is not just adorable—it is practical. Unlike some poaching cups that can tip over or wobble while cooking, the Eggondola floats steadily on the water. Even if some water gets into the boat during cooking, it stays afloat and does not sink or tip over, helping keep the eggs secure while they cook.

I also like that it is made from 100% BPA-free, food-safe silicone. The sturdy construction is durable, holds up well to repeated use, and is dishwasher safe, making cleanup quick and easy.

I lightly oil the boat (don’t use spray oil), add an egg, float it on simmering water, cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid, and the eggs come out perfectly every time.

For me, 6 minutes is just right for a jammy yolk.

  • 5 Minutes: Runny yolk
  • 6 Minutes: Jammy yolk
  • 7 Minutes: Soft-set yolk

  • The little boats are super cute, easy to use, easy to clean, and easy to store. They are also a fun way to get kids involved in making breakfast. My kids love watching their boat float around while the eggs cook.

If you love poached eggs and want to make them easily at home, the Eggondola is definitely worth trying!
